This short course provides an introduction to Lean Six Sigma. The history of Lean Six Sigma is discussed. The DMAIC process and concept of Lean are introduced. Lean Six Sigma tools used in Lean Six Sigma projects are introduced with a focus in application of statistical analysis. These tools include Gauge R&R, test of hypothesis, analysis of variance, linear regression, response surface method, Monte Carlo analysis, design of experiments, SPC, FMEA, and robust design. Several Lean Six Sigma case studies are presented to help students understand the execution of a Lean Six Sigma project and use of various tools. Organization-wide deployment of Lean Six Sigma, selection of Lean Six Sigma projects, formation of teams, project management, and Lean Six Sigma certification are discussed. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
This course is offered as a continuing education course, students who successfully complete this course will earn continuing education units and a certificate of course completion. No academic credit will be issued for completing this course
